June 25, 2015

We live in uncertain times and with constant threats knocking at our doors. One day, we might live under Martial Law and although the use of Martial law should bring end to the scenario that imposed it, most of the times it will lead to further violence and chaos. The United States, like many other nations has a long history when it comes to Martial law and some fear it may soon be upon us. The current scenarios that foresee Martial law are all related to ISIS attacks that could happen on US soil. This is why you need to have a survival strategy for when Martial law hits.

Survivalist VS Preppers.

Is There A Difference?

I have came across a couple prepper / survival sites that have articles that compare and try to differentiate between survivalist and preppers. And for some reason certain people believe the term survivalist seems to be associated with criminals and extremists. I know the media seems to describe every criminal that retreats and hides in the woods after committing a crime as a survivalist. If that person wears a pair of camo pants or who has a scary “Assault Rifle AKA Machine Gun” in media terms is a survivalist. Well it makes for good news and ratings. “Will they find him? He is a trained survivalist hiding in the forest!” I call BULL%&*#!. Then the general masses root for LEO to find the evil survival person. And ruining credibility and labeling the majority of good people based on one persons actions because the news said so. Once again BULL%&*#!

Review: Survival Medicine – A Surgeon’s Guide to Scavenging Items For a Medical Kit and Bugging Out. The Prepper Pages

Review:

I was recently gifted a copy of The Prepper Pages – Survival Medicine – A Surgeon’s Guide to Scavenging The Necessary Items for a Medical Kit, and Putting Them to Use While Bugging Out.. From Dr. Ryan Chamberlin recently.

Once my copy arrived I sat down and began reading. The book was so interesting I read it in one sitting. It really explains alot of common emergencies that will be widespread when SHTF or TEOTWAWKI hits the planet.

Tis The Season! Preparing For Cold Weather Emergencies!

I know many of us will be traveling for the Holidays and partaking in outdoor activities this winter, most in less than favorable weather. Here are some preparedness tips for the unexpected! If you have family traveling to your location this holiday season make sure to remind them to stock some basic supplies for the trip just in case, Most people can become a little too comfortable and confident that nothing will ever happen. Remember Murphys Law – “If anything can go wrong, it will”

Cold Weather Emergencies

Cold weather emergencies can present themselves quite rapidly and unexpectedly. Do you know what to do in a cold weather emergency? Such as becoming stranded from a accident, hunting or hiking trip or even a home based power outage from a snow or ice storm.

Cold Exposure Emergencies and How To Avoid It

Below is a great article relating to cold weather emergency’s from Tess Pennington and Jack Valentine on how to fight Hypothermia and considering the recent weather event’s they have some really good information worth sharing!

Article written by Tess Pennington and Jack Valentine

Many of us have first-hand accounts of what being without heat for a period of time feels like. Although I live in Texas where the cold weather is nothing compared to what some of you go through, there have been a handful of times where I have woken up to the after effects of a winter storm knocking out my electricity and immediately felt worry and panic about keeping my babies warm enough.

If you live in an area that experiences extremely cold temperatures, aside from a fireplace and an ample supply of firewood, the number one thing to invest in for your survival retreat is a gas oven/stove as opposed to an electric one. When the power goes out, the gas usually stays on, and there is no better way to heat a powerless house (or kitchen at the very least) than with 4 gas burners on high. Wood or pot-belly stoves work well too, and when you have one in the basement as backup to your normal electrical furnace, it sure does come in handy.

So Are Real Life Zombies A Threat?

Why Are Zombies The New Rage?

I normally scoff at the idea of zombies falling into the category of real disasters for prepping, but I’ve noticed more and more people attracted to the idea of a zombie apocalypse. Well with the movies I am legend, resident evil, world war z and The Walking Dead becoming a favorite among TV viewers over the last few years.

There is now everything from zombie survival kits, zombie response team magazine, zombiemart.com, zombie knives and even ammo manufacturers have come out with ammunition specifically for zombies “Hornady® Zombie Max” for example. Even long time magazine Guns and Ammo has countless articles about zombie related content. Hell even the Pentagon has a battle plan against zombies. Even the CDC is getting in on the band wagon. Don’t believe me? Heres the link. http://www.cdc.gov/phpr/zombies.htm Heck if your really serious there is even a chainsaw bayonet for your AR for dicing the little boogers up into small pieces.

Get em while their hot! Good for zombies and front doors!
